Two times a year, UCTC issues requests for proposals for faculty and dissertation research projects.

Winning projects are selected by means of a peer-reviewed process. Typically, some 15-25 proposals are funded under both programs combined.

Fund availability can be subject to federal appropriations and other constraints.
